This unspoilt area of France offers a wide range of activities for every age group. There are mountains, valleys, rivers lakes and forests for those who enjoy walking, climbing, swimming or canoeing and for those who are interested in history or architecture, there are many ancient villages, churches and chateaux, as well as the caves and pre-history museums of nearby Lascaux and Les Eyzies. There are numerous vineyards throughout the Cahors region and some may wish to travel further afield to those of Bergerac, Ste Foix or even Bordeaux. During the summer months, many towns and villages hold fairs and festivals, including a celebration of medieval life at nearby Gourdon, a blues festival at Cahors and jazz at Souillac.
